Trynta
Trynta is a Moldavian national wrestling form. Moldova to this day, in every village on holidays, boys, youths and adult men compete in strength, dexterity, and daring by Trynta. The winner usually receives a live ram.
The historical appearance of Trynta was in the times of Stefan the Great (1457-1504) as a national labor conscription process. It was also reflected in some novels of the 15th century, but there was no official organization. The fight rules and skills were handed down in each village of Moldova.
In the 1950s, a group of Moldovan sports specialists was gathered under the influence of the trend of creating their own national sports on the basis of the traditional folk types of wrestling. A classification was developed, standardized uniform and requirements were established.
